1:00AM - What's going on, my post-post-post-post-modern friends

Come on guys, I'm hearing more crickets than I am indie music out of you. I'll catalyze this embarassing funk with a question: how do you hear about shows?

I'm fond of my favorite college radio station's concert calendar: wprb.com/calendar.php

Which brings me to my next point. (Besides the Stones Throw 10th Anniversary) Does everyone else's line up _suck_?

10:05PM - Indie lovers!

I can't get enough of the new Ratatat album, Classics. It's definitely one of those cd's where I don't need to skip a single track since they are all just so catchy and have there own unique melody to them. There music is still guitar guitar driven, and doesn't involve vocals, yet they still manage to create songs that are just very pleasant to the ear. If you like the first album of theirs, you will definitely like this one. If you were never big on Ratatat, it may stay that way, but I would give it one more chance.

Hope to here from you guys!

5:35PM - HELP!

I've been going through a phase, lately, where ... well, my roommate has been telling people that I "hate music now". Truth of the matter is, I'm just bored by most everything I have.

What are you guys listening to? What have you heard lately that slapped you in the face and knocked you down and picked you up and knocked you down again?

Or, just in general.. what's good?

Hey everybody, whats shaking?
...Man this place is kinda dead!
Lets Get it moving again,

Ive found one pretty cool new band Secret Mommy (cd:Very Rec), nice electronic, broken beats, and such.
Also fond of Telefon Tel Aviv (www.myspace.com/telefontelaviv) and protege solo andata (myspace.com/soloandata)
ambient relaxing sorta stuff, you know.

For Telefon Tel Aviv i reccomend Farenheit Fair Enough, which is a neat song
and for Solo andata both songs on the myspace are cool.

10:52PM - A Few Subjects...

Hello everyone!
The community i can see is still kind of struggling to stay above water.
Just thought I'd bring up a few things
First Up: Sam Prekop, Archer Prewitt, Tortoise, and The Sea and Cake!
Woke up to this Sam Prekop song, made it feel like a warm summer afternoon day, sadly it really was raining.
I'd reccomend all of these guys, all from the Chicago realm i do believe, and all easy listening-feel good music. (all available on itunes, rhapsody, and whatnot)

Also: http://theboyleastlikelyto.co.uk/ and Islands, are the two other bands i've been listening to, i reccomend, check 'em out if you like.

Third:just heard there was a new Modest Mouse album coming out this year, I guess its expected. You guys have any news about this?

Fourth: Alright i know this might be a little to beyond us as a community called Indie Lovers, but im sure there are pleanty Weezer fans among us. So lead singer Rivers is finally getting married to a Kyoko Iko, but I guess that was expected too. Curious as to see what Rivers will right about now that he's not heart broken.

Lastly:What are you guys listening to? Any new discoveries? Good news? lets get the wheels turning on this once lovely community again.

Current mood: Good.

9:27PM - Push To Talk

Anyone here heard of Push To Talk? They play very nice indie-pop, although most of the songs are more rockish. They have a new album coming out soon, and you can hear some of the tracks on PureVolume. (It has also leaked to certain places on the intar wubs)

p.s. Duct Tape Mafia has shared a bill with them.

10:54PM - this is how bodies move.

I never really did the first entry thing, because I did it when I had my old journal, but now I want to do it again.

1. Rilo Kiley (and all side projects, number one forever).
2. Peachcake.
3. Gregory & the Hawk.
4. Lali Puna.
5. LCD Soundsystem.
6. The Sounds (seeing them in a week!).
7. Metric.
8. Kings of Convenience.
9. Mirah.
10. Nightmare of You.

This list could go on forever and ever.

Current mood: whatev.

6:21PM - Hello again!

I just got Sea and Cakes self titled album, their first one. It is truly amazing. I honestly don't know Sea and Cake to well, but after listening to this album, I would like to look deeper into Sea and Cakes other cd's since this one is so very pleasant. Is their other albums or songs you recommend listening to? They have a lot of other cd's so I was wondering which ones are worth looking into. Also, I know he does solo work, Sam Prekop, though I haven't listened to it. I'm definitely going to considering I am very impressed with this album.

There's a band I thought I would let you guys know about called Metal Hearts. They are a new band, with only one cd released this year, Socialize. They have very calm, and charming tunes that are really quite catchy. I recommend listening to the song Vampires/Tendency to Run, and Gentlemen's Spell. Each instrument stands out very well.
Let me know what you guys think of them.

If you have or can find a user pic that is suitable for this community, that would be very well appreciated. I shall be on a search for one as well.
